You have shown us in many, many entries how you celebrated The Rising, and we had everything from pool parties with friends to solemn moments of contemplation about fallen friends.
We would like to give our thanks to all participants for taking part and offer our congratulations to the winners!

Sorry for the delayed reply! Our Merchandise team has informed me that all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover) are accepted! Cash as well!
As for the number of machines available... don't worry! We're bringing quite a lot with us this time!
We'll also be announcing our Merchandise items on the Fan Festival website soon too, so keep an eye out for it.
Fan Fest 2016 Las Vegas is almost upon us, and while I’ll be there to answer questions, sing merrily, and consume a copious amount of reasonably priced cocktails, the undisputed Lord of the Lore, Banri Oda, will unfortunately be stuck in Japan, dreaming of consuming a copious amount of reasonably priced cocktails. However, Eorzean lore begins and ends with Oda-san, so we felt the upcoming Lore panel (oh, we haven’t announced it yet…) would not be complete without some insight from the master. And so, we’re going to open this thread for the next few days to gather questions for Oda-san. Ask about the game. Ask about its mysteries. Ask about Oda-san himself. Nothing is off limits!*
(*Excluding everything we deem off limits)
I’ll run the questions by Oda-san and get his answers before Fan Fest, then set aside some time during my panel to answer as many as we can. Thanks for all your help!
Please get your questions in by Tuesday, October 4th at 6:00 p.m. (PDT).
As you have noted, the Aspected Benefic tool tip in the English language version has not been updated to reflect the changed 170% effect status as of Patch 3.4. Rest assured, this is simply a text error on the tool tip and the actual effect is working properly at the new 170% value.
We'll be sure to get this corrected as soon as possible!
"But one day, all creation was consumed by a raging tempest that spanned the whole of the heavens, and the once-great continent was smashed into countless smaller ones."
And with that, I bid you carry on!
The content on the left page is content that Khloe wants you to do for the week.
On the upper right are the seals you can obtain by completing objectives outlined in the journal on the left page. On the bottom right you can see the the rewards. You will receive a base reward for obtaining nine seals, and additional rewards for completing rows with the seals you obtain.
You don’t need to go through the left-side content one by one focusing on it, you can naturally get through some of them by doing your roulettes each day, and then before the end of the week you can tackle the content that is remaining.
Second Chance: Retry
Retry, for example, would let you sacrifice one of the content objectives that you cleared in exchange for a clear on an EX trial you didn’t want to do.
Second Chance: Shuffle
If you feel the contents on Wondrous Tails is something you don’t think you can complete, you can use this feature to try and shuffle the board to test your luck. If lucky, it may line up the board where you would only need to complete one more to complete a line.
Recruits will join up with you by completing various objectives from the challenge log, and you’ll start figuring out which type of characters appear as you start to finish objectives.
Once you’ve recruited four NPCs, you’ll be able to form your squadron.
In the future, we'd like make updates that will allow you to take your squadron with you to dungeons.
An apartment block will be added to each ward and subdivision.
The current plan is to include 90 apartments available in each complex, but this number can be raised as needed for each ward, so don’t worry about room availability.
An apartment room can be purchased for 500,000 gil.
Everyone’s chocobo will be stored in the one stable stationed outside the apartment. You’re able to tend to another person’s chocobo as well. There is also a shared space in the lobby of each building that you can congregate in.
While we understand players would like to place multiple aquariums in their house, it requires a lot of resources to use transparent shaders. It would probably be possible to place up to three; however, we didn’t have much people to test this with, so for now please let us go with one aquarium for now. During testing, because of the shaders used, when you move the aquarium, the water stayed in place while the furnishing moved, and followed afterwards, looking quite weird.
The aquarium has it’s own unique user interface, you choose from either seawater or freshwater.
This will also determine what kind of fish you can place inside of it. There is also a limit to how many fish can be placed in the aquarium and this will depend on the size of the aquarium, and the size of the fish.
Don’t worry, big fish won’t eat the smaller fish, so you won’t encounter a situation where the M size fish ate the S size fish and turned into an L.
There's a special UI for spectator mode. You can see both teams, including their adrenaline gauges and cast bars etc. You can also switch between 8 fixed cameras with the press of a button.
The spectator mode that will debut in 3.4 is mainly for operational use.
You’ll need three parties to utilize the spectator mode and it has to be a custom match. Group A and B fight, group C watches. The party leader of one of the fighting parties will need to invite the spectator party.
Can be great for training in PvP, but also for people who would like to stream PvP.
Also for custom matching, you can keep practicing with the same party via a retry button at the end of the match, if you want to stay with the same party members of course.
You can see straight away on the map, the dueling area is a large new addition. There’s a clear line before entering the dueling area. Cross the line, and dueling is possible.
After targeting, you can request a duel in the sub command menu, Then you confirm in the next window that pops up. It shows item levels and jobs on this menu. Then we have a countdown after both players agree.
When knocked out, it’s easy to get back up. There’s no IL sync for this either. If we get a lot of requests, we can consider adding an IL sync later, please give us your feedback.
The walls surrounding the area are breakable, and it’s quite a height to fall from... But even if you fall, you can be raised!
For Sephirot, it was like playing jump rope what with the hand sliding across the battlefield, but for Sophia it's more of a mind training game. The mechanics may feel easier than The Final Steps of Faith Extreme for some.
Watch the stream live on Twitch and YouTube.
As we'll be updating this thread throughout the show, make sure to reload every so often! We'll be posting the event summary exclusively in the thread and posting reminders occasionally on Twitter. However, please keep in mind that updates won't be occurring in real-time and there may be a delay.
After we create the full summary, it will be posted in the "Letter from the Producer LIVE" forum. Please note that all summary information is subject to change.
See you here at 9:30 p.m. (PDT) / 12:30 a.m. (EDT) / 4:30 (GMT)!
As there were multiple characters listed in each entry, we have opted to list the winners by the forum handle that posted the entry. Please note that users included within entries who did not meet the criteria put forth in the rules will be ineligible for a prize.

Patch 3.4 Special Part I
*While lines from certain characters will differ based on your clear progress in the Coil of Bahamut, rest assured that the overall story itself will not change.
Battle System Updates
Players from around the world have been requesting this feature for some time. When challenging raids and trials, timers will now be reset when the party is wiped. However, if we find instances of this being abused in any way to take advantage of a battle, then we may disable this feature.
Auto-attack System Changes
Currently, when playing as a melee DPS, auto-attacks are executed while standing within 3m and facing within 90 degrees of your target. However, differences in player skill can result in rather large gaps in DPS values, which is why we will be changing the way this functions so that auto-attacks are executed based on the range requirement only. The directional requirement will be removed and you will be able to execute auto-attacks regardless of what direction your character is facing.
*The auto-attack range for ranged DPS will not change from 25 m.
*If a ranged DPS job is within 25 m of the target, auto attacks will occur in all 360 degrees.
Changes to Face targeting System
In relation to the auto-attack system changes, face targeting will also be adjusted. It will become inaccessible while moving, and can only be used when standing still. With this change, for casters, your character will face the direction of the target's current position and follow the direction automatically. However, please note that there may be times when this won't happen correctly due to server communication.
We would like to point out that until now, some mechanics required players to stand still or face away from the target to dodge specific mechanics; however, because auto-attack will be active regardless of which direction you're facing, players will not be able to simply turn around to dodge. Rest assured, you can still sheathe your weapon, or cancel targeting to dodge these mechanics.
Certain Trials will be added to the Raid Finder
We have received lots of feedback regarding this as well. The raid finder will feature extreme trials, including the newest extreme trials. In Patch 3.4, the trials from the Minstrel's Ballad: Thordan's Reign onward will be added to the raid finder.
Addition of a Countdown Feature
While this wasn't mentioned in the slides, there are players who use macros to count down before fights, and we have decided to introduce an actual feature for this. A countdown has been added under Party in the main menu, where you will be able to set the countdown timer up to a maximum of 30 seconds. Once the countdown reaches the 5 second mark, a visual countdown will be displayed, followed by "START."
New Raid Dungeon – Alexander: The Creator
New Trials – Containment Bay P1T6
This is the second installment of the Warring Triad series, and players will face off against Sophia, the Goddess. We've put a lot of effort into the graphics, and we're hoping to show it off during the Tokyo Game Show 2016, so stay tuned!
Those familiar with lore may be familiar with the name Xelphatol. Players will mainly encounter Ixal in this dungeon. Give it a try and find out why adventurers are entangled once again with the Ixal!
We've received numerous requests to implement dueling from the North America region, and so we're pleased to announce the addition of a duel mode in Patch 3.4! With this mode, it will be possible to battle 1 on 1 against each other in a public area located at the Wolves' Den Pier. You'll be able to request a match via a menu subcommand, and when accepted, a countdown will start and the battle will begin. In fact, others would be able to watch the duel.
This new location has areas where you can break the enemy line of sight as well, so players can utilize this to practice certain strategies for PvP. We're hoping this new feature will invite those who aren't familiar with PvP to try it out, and also use this as a starting ground to get familiar to PvP before stepping foot into the Feast. You can also hold community tournament events with this, so we're looking forward to seeing black mage only tournaments and more!
Dueling can be done while waiting for a match in a Duty Finder as well, so be sure to give it a spin!
Another feature which was requested many times was the ability to hold custom matches. The custom match mode can be used for practicing PvP as a party, or again, to hold community-driven events. In order to engage in a custom match, two parties will need to be formed, and have the party leader from one group request a match with the other party. Once accepted, both parties will enter an instanced area to begin a match. Using this mode, it will be possible to hold up to five consecutive matches.
Along with the above features, we're also introducing a spectator mode, which will allow players the ability to spectate matches. In this mode, players will be able to see important information such as the players' buffs, HP, MP, TP, and Adrenaline Gauge for each of the players engaged in the match. There are 8 cameras placed at the center of the map, and players will be able to switch to each of these cameras and spectate from different angles. Along with this, by clicking on a specific player's character name, you'll be able to spectate from the viewpoint of a player engaging in the match. However, please note the spectator mode coming in Patch 3.4 will require party members engaged in the match to actually invite players to spectate. We understand this is a bit cumbersome, and are currently working to see if we can add a mode where players can see a list of ongoing matches, and be able to choose which match to spectate from on that list. We ask for your patience as we continue working to improve this new feature.
We'll go over the specific UI for the spectator mode coming in Patch 3.4 at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2016, so please be sure to be on the lookout for that as well.
The story of Deep Dungeon will continue up to floor 100, allowing you to progress through content with a play experience matching that of the Deep Dungeon up until now. However, from floor 101 and beyond, it will be challenging unless you enter with a solid party. With that said, you will be able to obtain a higher score when playing solo, so we'd like everyone to think of this as part of the challenge!
In addition, the cap for the Aetherpool gear rewards will increase, and other rewards will be available, so this update should give you something to look forward to. In patch 3.45 only the new floors will be added, and we’d like to gather everyone's feedback to aid the creation of Deep Dungeon 2 in future.
Grand Company Updates
Grand Company squadrons will be introduced in Patch 3.4. This content will be a type of simulation game that can be enjoyed solo, and will involve assembling volunteers and creating your own squad. In later updates, we're thinking of adding content which you can enjoy by bringing your squadron to dungeons.
* Please note the English term is "Squadrons" and not "Platoons" as listed in the presentation.
New Grand Company rank
A new Grand Company rank will be available.
New gear will be available for exchange.
New Features Planned for Patch 3.4
Players will venture through this content with a charming Miqo'te girl from Idyllshire. Adventurers will tell tales of their adventure to her in order for her to create something, and is meant to add another layer of enjoyment for players. The nutkin in the screenshot is hiding information that has yet to be released.
Gold Saucer Updates
Specialized rooms, which can be accessed via the Duty Finder, have been added so players from the same data center can more easily challenge one another to a game of Triple Triad.
Lord of Verminion
This will now be supported by the Duty Finder.
Players will be able to purchase up to three Jumbo Cactpot cards with different numbers each week.
Apartment-style housing will be added. These apartments will have a shared lobby and chocobo stables, which can be accessed by all tenants. Each ward will have one apartment, and it will cost 500,000 gil for a room.
As it is difficult to implement transparent objects in an MMO, it took us a while to add this feature but we are pleased to announce the addition of aquariums. They will come in several different sizes, with the bigger aquariums being able to accommodate a larger number of fish. Maintenance will be necessary, but hopefully well worth the effort, as different varieties of fishes players can put in them will gradually increase with future patches.
A playlist feature has been added to the Orchestrion.
We will be introducing wall-hanging cabinets, as well as Calca and Brina dolls.
* Video showed images of the new housing furnishings.
A wandering Tiny Tapir has stopped by the thread to provide more updates on QoL adjustments coming our way.
Planned for Patch 3.4
- Multiple Time Display
We're planning to add a feature which would allow displaying Local Time, Eorzea Time and Server Time simultaneously.
This feature will be implemented for the Windows, PlayStation®4, and Mac versions.
- Doze Emote
Players will be able to use the doze emote on beds inside the inn. We're also planning to add few beach chairs in Costa Del Sol, so you'll be able to sleep on those as well!
- Group Pose
I'm sure everyone here is up to date and following our Dev. Blog, right? If not, the group pose feature is getting a big update, and players will be able to do quite a few things with their screenshots! For more details, be sure to check them out here!
- Mentor Icon Size in Chat
We've received reports that the mentor display icons in chat do not properly scale to the font size when players select sizes other than the default settings. We're going to adjust this so that the icon size will change depending on the font size used in the chat.
- Duty Completion Status
We're going to see if it would be possible to make it visually easier to see which dungeons players have completed from the Duty Finder. This would help out those who may unlock multiple dungeons or trials at once, and see which ones they have/haven't completed.
My name is Kaposhipi and I'm the newest member of the EU Community team. Very pleased to meet you all!
Well, truth be told, my name may sound familiar to some of you as I was part of the Game Master team for the past 3 years, so we may have crossed paths in-game at some point.
I'm so excited to join the team! There is a lot to take care of but staying in touch with you guys will always be the #1 priority. Don't be shy and feel free to fire the feedback away! I'll be happy to forward it to the devs and of course answer your questions whenever I can.
Also if you main white mage in the game, we will be the best of friends. If not... pretty sure we can still figure something out.
One last thing, I am French so I will obviously be more active on the French side of the community but might pop in here from time to time; you will also see me at various events or streams. I look forward to chatting with you all!
Luxpheras here with a couple updates for QoL improvements planned for implementation with Patch 3.4: Soul Surrender!
Improving the Combat Log
We're planning to implement a feature where players can mouse-over their battle logs to view the details of a buff / debuff they have received during a fight.
For example, say a player uses Rampart, "You gain the effect of Rampart" will be displayed in their battle log, and by hovering over the text "Rampart", the description of that buff will be displayed above the chat window as a tool tip like "Rampart - Damage taken is reduced".
This goes for debuffs as well. When a player receives the "Staggered" status for example, hovering over the "Staggered" in the battle log will display the description of that debuff: "Staggered - Unable to execute actions."
With this feature, players can go back and check their log to see how these buffs & debuffs may have impacted their group's performance in an instance, providing an additional tool for strategic efforts. I'm sure this will prove particularly useful during raids and extreme trials!
New Party Member Notifications
Have you ever found yourself taking screenshots or /mdancing in Idyllshire while waiting on a Party Finder group to fill, only to find that new members have joined while your focus was elsewhere? We plan to implement a way for parties to be notified when a new member joins to avoid any future confusion... or embarrassment
A) No, names will not be printed on the badge.
B) IDs will be checked for whoever is picking up the ticket on the order. As I mentioned, you can decide amongst yourselves whether you want each person to pick up their own (using the order QR code) or if you want to select someone to pick up all tickets on that order.
Now is the time for us to determine whose poses shine brighter than the rest!
This brings the "Do You Even /Pose?" Showdown! to an end.
Please note that the winners of this contest will be announced on or about Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
Everyone on the community team thanks you for your participation.
(Especially since I enjoyed this Moonfire Faire a little too much~!! )
